The point being made is that the tactical situation may call for troops in a certain place, but the logistics dictates a different route. From the perspective of our DCS missions, we often focus on the "importance" of front line victories, forgetting the criticality of the logistics chain that sustains the overall offensive. Thus cargo ships, railways, convoys, supply columns and support points are all extremely important to the battlefield.
