Works if you take away the &t=208s, but then they'll have to skip to 3:28 manually.

Here are some existing scripts to examine:

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php? ... ight=recon

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php? ... ight=recon Not working at the moment but watch and shoot for 2.5

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p= ... ostcount=5 This may be a good framework for the script that you would need, the output though needs to be incorporated into the mission again, with associated triggers to make the units visible. I would see them starting out as invisible, that way they would not be attacked.

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php? ... ight=recon This is the script derived from the one above, more of a CAS type spotting than Recon.

Alternatively, during WWII and Korea, data received during a recon flight would not normally be auctioned that day but would go onto a target list, prioritized and have assets assigned to it when available. The aircraft would need to return from the area, photos would need to be developed, analysts would need to interpret what they saw, prepare a brief, Comd would need to make a decision, the squadron that was assigned to attack the target would need to be briefed, make a plan, prepare for the mission and then fly it. For a DCS campaign purpose, it may be enough to output the collected data to a web interface that only the one side can see and either using a combined arms slot AI assets can be assigned to attack it or player squadrons can plan an attack on that target.

Another method, one that would work for a cross channel battle, i.e. spring of 1944, there may be a series of trigger zones over the map and if a Recon unit entered the trigger zone AND chose to activate the camera the trigger would spawn the units that were in that trigger zone or make them visible if you wanted to have them there all the time.

Thanks Rob, that's a cool set of examples there. I find that these examples are often far more instructive than plain documentation. The third one looks like it might be the starting point I need.

I don't mind the idea of a delay in the recon processing. If it hits the server log, that is good enough. What I'm trying to do is implement some SoW-esque methods where recon percolates through to the point of calling the shot for a subsequent mission's AI raid. Yes, there would be web-resources, with squad-limited intel available to participating units. I also don't mind the idea of persistent operations, but with the activities leading up to major operations at fixed times. (A sort of compromise between SoW-24/7 and SoW-Events).

I'm not sure if it would be cross-channel (e.g. Unternehmen Steinbock) or something purely Normandie (e.g. Operation Cobra). Depends on the map development of southern England, or the provision of additional assets (e.g. AI bombers or ground units). And scenario design would really only occur after I've managed to work out how to get the various "pieces" of the game engine to do things. No matter which platform I go for (CloD / DCS / BoX), there are certain components that I need to experiment with... just to figure out what the options are.

And, yes, I'm looking at DCS 2.5... at least for any DCS-based implementation. (For BoX, it would be Kuban/Bodenplatte and CloD is the old Channel Map... but they are separate investigations.)
